There are some pretty trendy styles emerging in the fashion world in 2018. So, why should your wedding outfit be any different? Here are some of our favourite blouse designs that will change your saree/ lehenga game forever!

1. The Cape Blouse:

The cape blouse trend started way back in the 1850’s and provide a stylish twist to the traditional blouse. Marry this with an off-the-shoulder style and you will have the most perfect casual mehendi outfit.

2. Off-shoulder Style:

Got some killer collar-bones you want to show-off? Try an off-the-shoulder blouse to go with your saree or lehenga. You could even accessorize with a chunky choker necklace to balance a simpler outfit.

3. The Brocade Blouse:

This is a look that the bridal party or even wedding guests might fancy. Brocade is a sure-fire way to give a refreshing spin to the traditional silk saree.

4.  Plain Velvet Blouse:

Velvet is a versatile material that will add effortless elegance to your reception look. Pair a plain velvet blouse with an elaborate saree or lehenga skirt for the perfect balance.

5. The Nude Blouse:

Now I’m sure we are well aware that this trend is a crowd favourite in the western bridal world. But this look can also be paired with both a saree or a lehenga for an equally elegant and daring reception look.

6. Heavy Embroidery:

The heavier the embroidery, the better! Especially, to all the South-Indian brides out there, this classic look will tie in nicely with your traditional kanchipuram ( silk) saree. You could even embroider the couple’s names or a significant event ( like the doli below).

7. The Jacket Blouse:

The jacket blouse is becoming more popular among the celebrity scene but more and more brides are opting for this unique look for their reception. If you are worried about looking too “corporate”, you could consider a peplum style jacket blouse.

8. Mirror Mosaic:

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the most stylish bride of them all? This is another great style to match with the more simpler outfits for a reflective finish.
